On a regular basis I talk with people who became inactive or hardly active ‘because they are under the wrong sponsor’.

I don’t want to be the party-pooper, but isn’t it time to wake up and smell the coffee?
Your business starts with YOU. You alone are responsible for its success AND its failure.

Especially if you’ve been around a few years, this is just a lame excuse to NOT take responsibility.

There are many, many successful marketers who did it ‘on their own’.

‘But you cannot do without the synergy in the group’….ehhh, you can’t do without the synergy in YOUR group, the one that you build yourself. And it is for exactly this very reason you shouldn’t start with signing up just anyone.

You want to build with builders, people who know what collaboration actually means instead of just being able to spell it properly.
You want to work with people who love the dreams of their signups more than their own.

It’s of no influence if and what your sponsor does. If you are fortunate to have a sponsor who has focus AND ethics AND communicates, then that is a bonus. Most of the time however, it doesn’t work this way.

If you are clueless HOW to build a team, how to teach them to teach, then be willing to find a mentor or a proper course (I only know of two of them on the market that truly work and are completely opposite from what you learn in the traditional MLM’s – one in Dutch and one in English).

But stop that freakin’ blame game. Shuffle the cards and be accountable for how YOU play it. Not your sponsor, not your team, but only YOU.

Winners don’t blame, winners observe and improve.
Winners put time and energy in developing the correct skill set.
Winners work with their team (no matter the size).
Winners don’t care how other teams function, they set the culture within their own group!

Winners most certainly don’t expect their sponsor to fill their down-line. If it happens that is a bonus, but rarely happens.

Everything happening in your life starts with YOU and only you!

Look deep inside and dare to answer the question what is really stopping you.
Do you allow yourself to be successful? Do you allow yourself to soar?

I had a good sponsor in my very first biz opp, unfortunately it turned out to be a money game, a ponzi…I still was naive back then. 🙂
After that, nope…had to do it myself and I did it myself.

Now, about 6 years after I started, I’ve built the training my group needs to learn the skills and in the coming weeks and months will add lessons on how to build your business online. So both online and offline are covered.

Be honest, it was never your sponsor who determined your success or growth, it always has been you.
It has been a valuable lesson one of my mentors taught me: never let anyone but you determine the pace of growth of your business!

If you’d need answers about the mechanics of the marketing plan, go up the line or even submit a support ticket.
But never use it as an excuse. Start doing, learn the details along the way. 🙂

Over and over again HYIP’s pop up, claiming to be generating revenue with YOUR money trading Forex. At the same time promising, and in the beginning actually paying, absurd daily percentages of 2, 3, 4% and more.

Simply logics, common sense and maths will proof to you this is all coming from a very big thumb, appealing to those in desperate search of money.

Let’s have a closer look at why HYIP’s based on Forex are BS.

If 2% to be made per day, that would mean 40% per month.
This also means that a trader needs to make MORE than this 40%, he needs to have an income as well, right?

Successful traders who trade with other peoples money in general will take a performance fee, 30% per month is not unusual.

Now, let’s assume you’ve funded your account with $5,000 and this phenomenal trader would make about 50% in one month, $2,500….still with me?

A trader in a HYIP would then pay out $2,250 and would have made $250

A real PAMM trader would have taken 30% and made $750. The pay out would be $2,500 minus $750 = $1,750.

So far clear, right?

Now, imagine that this HYIP trader would start doing what he says, people will promote like crazy and millions are invested.

For the sake of simplicity let’s assume a total of 2 million is invested and in a month the realized profits amount to 25%, as in Forex there is nu such thing as fixed percentages per month.
The fixed payout is still 40%, the reason why people put in their hard earned cash.

This means this ‘saint’ will have to pay 15% out of the available trading balance, in order to meet the pay out, in this case $300k. Which is less money to trade with in the next month.

What is standard practice in these HYIP’s, is that you will never see proven trading results, some percentages are stated on a website, an excel sheet is presented as being a truthful reflection of trading results….you will NEVER see an actual trading account that is linked to something like MyFXbook, which would be a real proof of gained results, showing the max draw-down and what risk has been taken with your money.

With an amount of $2 million, a professional trader can easily make $60,000 a month. They will NEVER guarantee to make $800k a month! It just is not realistic!

HYIP’s are never ran by honest people, but by people who are after one thing only: your money.
When the influx of new investors slows down, you will see these things occurring:
claimed payment processor issues, reason why they can’t pay out at the moment, or a restructuring of a comp plan, maintenance on the website….everything that you can come up with to keep people believing they will make these exorbitant amounts until they can retire……until it goes black and stays black.

Forex DOES offer passive income opportunities.

So….be alert, don’t even START to believe the fixed rates per day whenever the source is claimed to be Forex, it just does not exist!

Every single day more scams surface, some are blatant scams, others started with the right intentions perhaps, but with a business model that can not last.

I see so many people join these programs, unknowing often that they are setting themselves up for yet another loss of their money.
Not the experienced marketers of these schemes, they don’t know sh*t about compliance, but will seduce you to sign up with them, telling you whatever you want to hear….no they do well financially, they are the ones collecting commissions that are paid from the money newer sign ups put in.

I get on my soapbox every now and then, but this time I chose to do a webinar on the subject and of course have recorded it.

Educate yourself, understand why you start to THINK for yourself instead of blindly follow the crowd. And after having watched this, thought about it, please start making better decisions from now on.

You don’t know what you don’t know, but now…you’ll know!

Beware uneducated network marketers!

It is shocking and highly concerning to see network marketers promoting a product they are uneducated on.

The world of MLM has turned into a world of pretending to be successful, making claims that are totally untrue and telling people about anything just to make them pull out their credit cards.

Just some observations over the last 2 days on Facebook:

– marketers promoting blatant crypto ponzi’s going ‘live’ talking about how to recognize bitcoin scams
– marketers agreeing on posts on how poor most people do their due diligence while they are promoting the clear scams themselves
– marketers pitching me opportunities that are even a disgrace to the WORD opportunity itself!

A few examples, without naming biz opps by name:

  • any financial trading business who is asking you to send THEM your funds MUST be licensed and show a risk disclaimer on their
    site. They should also be able to provide you with verified historical results over a longer period (2 months is NOT sufficient history)
  • any company selling Expert Advisors (trading robots) MUST be able to show you the results of their back tests over a very long period of time.

Marketers promoting this don’t have the slightest understanding of trading Forex nor the financial markets. They ONLY look at the referral commissions on YOUR investments that they can make. They are clueless whether a trading strategy has a large draw down (loss) or what risk it is trading at. They often have never heard of MyFXBook or FXBlue, which is software used by real traders to show prospects their verified trading results.

Marketers claiming they are licensed quickly turn silent if you’d ask for a license number or regulating authority they are licensed with.

But hey, the referral commissions are awesome!

  • any opportunity promising you to turn your 0,001 Bitcoin into multiple bitcoins on auto pilot….come on, you were born with brains, where do you think the extra bitcoins are coming from? These are plain ponzi schemes. NO MATTER WHAT PRODUCT OR SERVICES ARE SAID TO BE OFFERED!
  • Pump and dump altcoin opportunities, where marketers easily promote several of them, but ALL of these are claimed to be the second largest next to Bitcoin. Sure…now where did I park my unicorn?
    Blockchain experts will immediately tell you that a centralized blockchain is NOT going to create usage in the market.

If only a company determines the value of a coin, if you cannot exchange them to FIAT or established crypto currencies, then you could
just as well start counting your Monopoly cash and start buying houses and hotels…Oh Mariska, but Monopoly isn’t real and neither are the houses or hotels…yup, exactly my point.

Most of these companies have great stories on IPO’s, ICO’s, acquired other companies etc, but you’ll never see any hard copy proof of it.
New fairy tales are told and, without using any form of common sense, repeated by our clueless network marketers.

Looking at the garbage that is being promoted, I can only conclude that many have left their brains in the bedroom when they woke up in the morning or…and that is even more likely, they are so focused on the money, that values are completely ignored.

As long as YOU make money, you don’t care who lost theirs.

Shocking!

Moral of this post: do NOT believe what the average promoter is claiming, especially not if their social media page is like an advertising billboard. Or, and perhaps that is even more safe: If they tell you A, assume it is B. It is THEIR interest that is driving them, THEIR bank account and not YOUR dreams and hopes.

Theoretically many of them know integrity and doing the right thing… in every day life they refuse to acknowledge or take accountability for cannibalizing their network into the next get rich quick scam. Walk the talk ladies and gentlemen, practice as you preach.

You may make a quick buck or two right now (short term focus), you’ll never build the residual income from your group…because once that group starts to grow, the opportunity collapses. Over time you’ll see people turn their back at you, you’ll have lost their trust. Rightfully I might add here.

Some of you I would love to punch in your face to wake you up…I know that in your heart you are really good people, but seem to be stuck in the habit of picking the wrong business to promote. Better build slower with a growing income that lasts than to boom and having to start all over….and over….and over.

Question all statements marketers make…they will tell you anything, keep that in mind, just to get you on board!

An interesting question since there seem to be different interpretations going round.

What does Wikipedia say about it?

Leadership is both a research area and a practical skill encompassing the ability of an individual or organization to “lead” or guide other individuals, teams, or entire organizations.

In network marketing it often seems that anyone enrolling in a business opportunity calls himself a leader (this could be herself as well).

Now, I’ve been around for a while and I’ve seen true leaders who had very small organisations and I’ve seen poor leaders who recruited hundreds personally. But they had no  real duplication!

A true leader is a great teacher, I really believe that. A teacher who teaches his team how to teach will ensure infinite growth in his organisation. Teach them skills and teach them how to teach these skills to their sign ups.

You can have awesome recruiting skills but no teaching skills and as a result, will not have growth in your structure.
Duplication is a by-product of education, something my mentor taught me and I’ve embraced this as it has proven to be true by many top earners.

If you’ve personally enrolled hundreds of people, but over 95% don’t make any money, are you a successful leader then?
Or, if you’ve personally enrolled 10 and 5 of them are in the money, would thát be successful leadership?

I know, it is opposite from what many will preach: sign up 30 in your first 90 days. How fair a chance would you give any of these 30? You would be too busy recruiting to actually work with them and for them, too busy to help them make their first commissions… These 30 would basically be ‘on their own’.

Personally I do not believe in the front-loading behavior of these recruiters. It works in plain affiliate marketing, but it’s not what will get you a team  building teams that build teams without you having anything to do with it. It is not what will get you real residual income from your group in 18-24 months.

In fact it will force you to continue recruiting to make some money. How does that compare to the time freedom that is preached in this industry? Think of that…

I know I’ve been ridiculed, I’ve been… erm, well call it less loved *smile*, because I refused to participate in any 90 day program that would only focus on you enrolling as many new people as possible.
I refused to lie to my contacts: ‘Sorry, I’m off to an appointment in 2 minutes but I just had to call you quickly’… sounds familiar? I bet it does… honesty will always prevail, in real life but also in network marketing.

So give your sign ups a fair chance. Work with them, teach them the proper skills by showing them. Plan with them, execute with them, until they are capable and comfortable doing exactly the same themselves. That is when you are a true leader and will have true duplication.

It very often is said: ‘If you can’t do it, teach it’…and it makes me shake my head when I scroll through social media. I see so many branding themselves as a teaching successful marketer, while I know they are and flat broke and never have built something successfully.

Newsflash: you cannot teach what you don’t know and you cannot lead to where you haven’t been.

Choose your sponsor wisely, make sure he or she is a real leader and not just a recruiter.

Communication, a lost art. It really has become that.

We live in an era where people across the table even text each other. Whatsapp, Viber, Messenger…the number of messages sent on a daily basis worldwide is just insane!!

I really don’t like Whatsapp. The number of notifications of groups I’m in is driving me nuts so I tend to switch of notifications and very often don’t read at all.. until I decide to leave that group. If you have something you think I should know, talk to me. Messenger also offers the possibility to call me.

I already noticed this back in Corporate life: very often I told my team to put on their walking shoes and go TALK with a colleague in another department instead of sending emails. You’d be surprised how much more is getting done/ agreed on while having an actual conversation.

Network Marketing

In network marketing it very much is the same. Let’s take Facebook as an example:

Facebook is great to network, to connect…but in order to more effectively grow a business you’ll need to actually talk with people.

Very often people tell me they send XYZ the link because the person asked for it. Then stops responding any messages.
You could have avoided this by actually having talked to XYZ.
In a message people will ask you for your link just to be ‘done’ with you. They are sending you into the woods.

In a conversation there is no time for them to prepare a desired response and if your communication skills are right, you can make people tell you anything you’d like to know about them…their hopes, dreams. That is your starting point in getting to a call to action.
So get people on Skype or phone or even messenger asap if they live further away, otherwise go have a coffee with them and TALK, connect!

With the art of communication you will never have a sales call anymore, you will simply have genuine conversations with people. Conversations in which you’ll find out if and how you could be of service to them to help them get what they want.

Show and Tell

Too often I hear leaders say they message their new sign ups regularly but no one seems to do anything.
Duh…stop messaging, start talking, start planning their weeks with them, start actually working with them. Show and tell. That is the model I believe in. By show and tell you are actually teaching them to show and tell with the sign ups of their people.
By show and tell you’ll teach them the power of working TOGETHER instead of assigning tasks to people.

By show and tell you’ll learn the strengths and shortcomings of individual team mates and can connect people who could help each other develop in specific areas. It’s a system teaching people how to effectively build teams that build teams, without you having part in it.
It is a system giving true infinite duplication.

BUT, it requires real conversations, real skills. And the funny part is, it’s just a few skills with some variations on them.
It’s like having a backpack from which you can pull as you please. And by applying them you’ll get better and better…until you’ll master the fine art of having genuine conversations.

Understand before being understood

BIG point in conversations is that you’ll need to see to UNDERSTAND before being understood.
We have 2 ears and 1 mouth, yet far too often we’ll hear the network marketer do all the talking (often big self promotion, look at me, look at how good I am) instead of asking the right questions. When asking the right question it’s a matter of LISTENING to the answers and also hear what has not been said in words.
Also very important: make notes during the conversation. It does miracles for you in the future. It also gives you the opportunity at the end of the conversation to summarize and make sure you have understood your prospect correctly.
How powerful if you can give a person the feeling that you really listened and heared what he has been telling you?!
Again, it’s a lost art.

Be aware of it, look at yourself: are you texting or talking/ listening? Change if necessary.
